This exciting brand new script and first production of Dinosaur Dance Party incorporated a large variety of genres and themes to get young children moving. Given this was a new production, the creative team and I worked through a large amount of music and heavy editing to find the best selections and craft choreo and content from the ground up. We also wanted to have a realistic level of control that the actor playing the DJ could have, which led me to design a Qlab system that allowed for an integrated launchpad in the center of the set, as well as remote iPad control for a mobile Stage Manager. We found some really fun sounds and programming that allowed the cast to react very freely to the audience each night.
